Windsor and Ascot Driving Group

Carriage Driving for the Disabled

President: Mrs Brigid Hamill

WADG 50 years website

We have six qualified carriage driving coaches who accompany our drivers:

Sarah says: I learnt to carriage drive when I was a child and have been involved with ponies most of my life. I joined the Windsor and Ascot group when we moved to the Windsor area, initially as a volunteer but then became, a coach, the Treasurer and in 2014 Group Organiser. I thoroughly enjoy my role within the group and love to see the benefit and enjoyment that driving can give so many people.
Maddie
Maddie says: Horses are one of my loves and I have worked with them all my life. In 2009 I joined WADG as a cyclist and Sally’s Monday helper. Working with the ponies is very rewarding as they are so lovely and I knew that being an RDA Coach would be the obvious way to be more aligned with them and our driver members and I was able to pass my ‘driving test’ in 2011. Involvement in the day to day workings of WADG and care of the ponies grew and I became a Trustee in 2013. Since then my role has shown me how much pleasure the ponies bring to our members. Carriage driving a happy pony in such beautiful surroundings is such a joy for everyone.
