Visit to The Horse Trust - June 2019
Several members of the group went to visit the Horse Trust in Speen where Casper is enjoying his retirement. Unfortunately, Casper ignored his visitors but Walter was much more sociable and former Windsor Grey Daniel said hello to our Daniel. Everybody dried out in the Black Beauty Tea Room over tea and cake.
Ponies on Holiday - June 2019
Our ponies are having their annual holiday while our paddocks are being used during Royal Ascot. They seem very happy with their new grazing!
Royal Windsor Horse Show - May 2019
Our Group had a stand at Royal Windsor Horse Show this year, right next door to the Horse Trust (home of Casper). Fortunately the weather improved after the torrential rain on the first couple of days. We met lots of lovely people from other RDA groups and had some special visitors including Ed Bracher from RDA National Office and Frances Lochrane, our Regional Chair. We were lucky to have Casper next door to us in the Horse Trust paddock for the first three days - still as handsome as ever! Thanks to all the volunteers who helped on the stand and kept smiling throughout.
We're on Facebook!
The Group now has a Facebook Page to help us publicise what we do more widely, especially with all the events we are planning to attend this year.

RDA Golden Anniversary
RDA is celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2019. We will be holding some themed events during the year and will be tracking the distances driven by our drivers, coaches and ponies to see who can drive 50 Kilometres, or how many multiples of 50 Kilometres, during the season. The War Horse Memorial - February 2019
Our Group has been very fortunate to be chosen as one of the beneficiary charities of The War Horse Memorial.
The War Horse Memorial is a permanent tribute dedicated to the millions of UK, Allied and Commonwealth horses, donkeys and mules lost, and the immeasurable contribution they made, during The Great War of 1914-18. Poppy, the larger than life bronze War Horse, is situated in Ascot and was unveiled in June 2018. The Memorial forms a catalyst for an on-going fundraising campaign to support military and equine charities.
The War Horse Memorial made a very generous donation which completed our fundraising for Blue's new carriage. Alan Carr MBE, Co-Founder and Chief Executive of The War Horse Memorial, visited us on 5 February to see the new carriage and present the cheque.
